Pennsylvania DMVA to Hold Public Meeting on Sale of Two Blair County Armories
Officials to Explain the Sales Process to Interested Buyers
HARRISBURG, Pa., June 10, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will hold a public information meeting to discuss the future sale of the Altoona and Tyrone armories from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the Logan Township Municipal Office, 100 Chief Logan Circle, Altoona.
DMVA staff will explain the process for disposing of state armories and answer any questions. They will provide information about the advantages of acquiring armory property under a historic preservation covenant.
The public information meeting is being held in advance of the upcoming sale of the former PA National Guard Armories located at 327 Frankstown Road, Altoona, and at 926 S. Logan Ave., Tyrone.
The Department of General Services will sell these properties for fair market value by competitive bids in the coming months.
