Pennsylvania Dental Association President Comments on Pew Nationwide Study on Improving Dental Services
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a statement from Pennsylvania Dental Association President, Dr. Andrew J. Kwasny, commending the Pew Center for the States for its report, "The Cost of Delay: State Dental Policies Fail One in Five Children."
"The Pew Center study highlights many of the policy issues that the Pennsylvania Dental Association has been advocating for years, including community water fluoridation, increased Medicaid funding and access to quality dental services," Dr. Kwasny said. "Hopefully, this study will help state policymakers see the need for action on these issues in Pennsylvania to improve the health of our citizens."
Dr. Kwasny added: "We are grateful to the Pew Center for bringing these issues to the attention of our public officials. In addition, the PDA encourages Pennsylvania officials to consider other strategies for expanding access to quality dental care, including increasing funds for student loan forgiveness grants for dentists who agree to work in underserved areas."
