Pennsylvania DCED Davin Talks Entrepreneurs, Technology Investment at 'Jobs that Pay' tour at Erie Technology Incubator
ERIE, Pa., June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin today continued his "Jobs that Pay" tour at the Erie Technology Incubator at Gannon University to highlight Governor Wolf's commitment to support entrepreneurs and increase technology investments.
"The significant reforms proposed in Governor Wolf's budget will continue to move Pennsylvania forward by creating a pro-business climate that supports Pennsylvania's entrepreneurs and start-up companies," said Davin. "State support for technology innovation has become increasingly important as we continue to rebuild the middle class with jobs that pay."
Governor Wolf's 2015-16 budget will provide $100 million in technology investments to support entrepreneurs, established companies and manufacturing innovation through revenue from a commonsense severance tax on gas drilling.
Erie Technology Incubator executive director Jeffrey Parnell said DCED's support makes a significant difference in what the company can offer.
"We greatly appreciate the Department of Community and Economic Development's investment in entrepreneurs across our region to create technology companies and job growth," Parnell said. "With ETI currently assisting 18 technology-focused businesses, and our popular Technology Business Accelerator – which is offered in collaboration with Gannon University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Dahlkemper School of Business – we are uniquely equipped to provide eager entrepreneurs with tools and mentoring that will guide them throughout their journey."
