Pennsylvania DCED Brings the World to PA with Tour Aimed at Fostering Export Opportunities for PA Businesses
HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) will host "Bringing the World to PA" beginning Monday, September 12 through 23. This statewide tour presents an opportunity for Pennsylvania companies interested in exporting their products and services to meet one‐on‐one with the commonwealth's international Authorized Trade Representatives (ATRs).
"With customers in 210 countries and territories buying Pennsylvania-grown and made goods, it comes as no surprise that 6.5 percent of the commonwealth's GDP – approximately $39.4 billion – comes from exports," said DCED Secretary Dennis Davin. "Supporting that success is one of the largest, most comprehensive state-sponsored export development programs in the country, with authorized trade representatives covering 51 countries. We are excited to once again share the commonwealth's resources with Pennsylvania businesses."
Coordinated by DCED's Office of International Business Development, "Bringing the World to PA" has evolved from the "Pennsylvania International Week", a one‐week event, into a two‐week tour to meet the demands of increased participation across the commonwealth. At each of the event's 10 locations, Pennsylvania's ATRs will meet with Pennsylvania companies seeking foreign market intelligence, agents and distributor candidates, and industry and government contacts, as well as on‐the‐ground assistance when visiting these markets. Events will also include a series of presentations, seminars, and networking events for businesses.
