Pennsylvania Consumer Financial Protection Initiative Outreach Schedule for June Announced
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Education and outreach staff from the Department of Banking and Securities will be meeting with consumers and other stakeholders across Pennsylvania during the month of June to discuss financial topics as part of Governor Tom Wolf's Consumer Financial Protection Initiative.
For Veterans and Senior Citizens
The presentation "Spending Plans" – which outlines the differences between wants and needs; setting "SMART" goals; creating a spending plan; and putting the plan into action – will be offered at:
- Lebanon VA Hospital in Lebanon (Lebanon County) on June 8 at 10:00 AM
- Berwick Senior Center in Berwick (Columbia County) on June 22 at 10:30 AM
The presentation "Banking Basics" -- which discusses how banks and credit unions work; banking accounts and issues; and deposit insurance – will be offered at:

- Elizabethtown Area Senior Center in Elizabethtown (Lancaster County) on June 23 at 10:30 AM
The presentation "Understanding Reverse Mortgages" -- helps senior citizens and their families better understand this complicated mortgage product – will be offered at:

The presentation "Save and Invest PA!" -- which introduces students and young adults to the concepts and practices of saving, investing, and protecting themselves from financial scams -- will be offered to students and educators at the following locations:
