Pennsylvania Commission for Women Hosts Women's Leadership Panel
HARRISBURG, Pa., March 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Commission for Women (PCW) today hosted the first in a series of panel discussions focused on increasing women's leadership in the state and inspiring more young women to be engaged in business and civic leadership.
"The 'Women Taking the Lead' panel series is an excellent forum to highlight the successes of women in Pennsylvania," said Maria Montero, the commission's executive director. "These panel discussions will be available on video stream, so I encourage high schools and universities to show these discussions to their students as a learning and inspirational tool."
Today's "Women Taking the Lead" panel discussion included Reps. Karen Boback (R-Columbia/Luzerne /Wyoming), Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) and Vanessa Lowery Brown (D-Philadelphia). Other scheduled participants were Pamela Varkony of Allentown, international writer and speaker; Dr. Pamela Hadley of Philadelphia; and Amy Hancock of Pittsburgh, president of Advantage Group.
