Pennsylvania Capitol Building to Be Lit in Blue to Mark World Autism Awareness Month

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The front of the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building will be lit in blue for one night at dusk Thursday, April 1, in recognition of World Autism Awareness Month, the Pennsylvania Department of General Services today announced.

Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, has asked for prominent buildings across North America and the world to be lit in blue to help in the fight against autism. Pennsylvania's Capitol, along with other landmarks, will be illuminated in blue on Thursday evening -- the first night of Autism Awareness Month and the eve of World Autism Awareness Day, Friday, April 2.

According to Autism Speaks, the effort will help to shine a light on the growing autism health crisis and the struggles of millions of families.
