Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Makes Unanimous Endorsement of Heather Arnet for State Senate
HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO announced the unanimous endorsement of Democrat Heather Arnet for the Special Election for the 37th State Senate District to be held on Tuesday November 3rd which is also Election Day. The endorsement was made by the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO's Executive Council representing union workers and families throughout Pennsylvania.
"Heather Arnet is the best choice for the working men and women in the 37th State Senate District. Throughout her career she has put the interests and the well-being of working families first. She is committed to moving Pennsylvania forward and rebuilding our middle class by investing in our schools and our communities which are the backbone of our Commonwealth," Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Rick Bloomingdale said in announcing her endorsement.
"Pennsylvania needs leaders like Heather Arnet who understand that family sustaining jobs, fair wages and dignity for all workers are the key to the Commonwealth's economic growth. We have a governor in Tom Wolf who is working to strengthen the middle class, but he needs strong partners like Heather in the Legislature to fight for decent wages and benefits and policies that increase opportunities for working families," Secretary-Treasurer Frank Snyder said.
The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO is the largest labor organization in the state representing over 800,000 union workers. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO has already made endorsements of the following judicial candidates in the November general election:
