PITTSBURGH, June 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PennFuture has announced the appointment of Elaine Labalme as communications manager for the statewide environmental advocacy organization. She has been in the role of acting media relations consultant since early 2013.

Labalme had been affiliated with PennFuture as a communications consultant for the previous two years. In that role, she handled media relations work as well as social media channels and e-publications for the organization. PennFuture is a statewide public interest membership organization, founded in 1998, with staff in Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Wilkes-Barre. PennFuture's activities include litigating cases before regulatory bodies and in local, state, and federal courts; advocating and advancing legislative action on a state and federal level; public education; and assisting citizens in public advocacy.
