SAN FRANCISCO, April 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The annual May 1st global release of Penfolds Grange Shiraz has the world of wine waiting with anticipation as the date approaches. This year, collectors have the opportunity to be one of the first to taste the 2007 vintage by attending one of two exclusive "Pre-Release" dinners.

On April 17th, Executive Chef, Charlie Trotter, will prepare a special degustation menu paired with five Penfolds luxury wines at his flagship restaurant in Chicago. Penfolds Master Fred Dame, MS, will host the special evening along with Charlie.
On April 24th, Executive Chef Michael Mina will do the same at his flagship restaurant in San Francisco with Penfolds Winemaking Ambassador, Matthew Lane as host. In what is sure to be a hit for guests, Ferrari/Maserati of San Francisco will also be on-hand showcasing their latest Ferrari and Maserati models in front of the restaurant.

Guests will have the incredible opportunity to be among the first in the world to enjoy Penfolds 2009 Yattarna Chardonnay, 2009 RWT Barossa Shiraz, 2009 Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008 St Henri Shiraz and, the highly anticipated 2007 Penfolds Grange Shiraz. Peter Gago, Penfolds Chief Winemaker, has also hand selected some personal back vintage favorites from his Private Cellar at Penfolds to share with those fortunate enough to be in attendance.
