ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PenFed was honored for decades of commitment and support to the U.S. Army Warrant Officers Association (USAWOA) during the organization's 43rd annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 16.
PenFed Credit Union President and CEO James Schenck accepted print number four of USAWOA's first commissioned painting entitled, "The Quiet Professional," on behalf of the credit union's board of directors and 1,800 employees. "PenFed is proud to support the men and women who defend our freedom and make America the greatest nation on earth. To be recognized and thanked by a group made up of such outstanding Americans is truly humbling," said Schenck.
During the presentation, USAWOA Executive Director Jack Du Teil spoke of the unique and special relationship the USAWOA and PenFed Credit Union have enjoyed for two decades.
"PenFed hosted our first Web presence on their servers, they provided the USAWOA with vital revenue and they've delivered incredible financial services to our members. We have supported the PenFed Foundation's work to make the Defenders Lodge a reality," said Du Teil.
"It is more than just business between us," Du Teil concluded, as the USAWOA's national president and vice president made the presentation. "Like family, PenFed means so much more than that to us."
USAWOA founder Don Hess paid tribute to the late Robert "Bob" Scott, who passed away in March of 2015. In the presence of Scott's wife, Rose, and son, Stephen, Hess spoke of Scott's commitment of more than 40 years as a USAWOA member, his longtime service on PenFed Credit Union's board of directors and his distinction of serving as the first chairman of the board of the PenFed Foundation.
Of Scott, Schenck said, "Bob's sense of service and duty was legendary, and it lives on through our corporate culture at PenFed. His influence will be felt for years to come."
