Pelosi Statement Following Senate Passage of the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act

WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after the Senate voted 61 to 38 this afternoon to pass the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act, which creates jobs, cuts small business taxes, and offers a critical source of affordable capital to Main Street businesses:

"The Small Business Jobs and Credit Act will improve access to capital and cut taxes for America's small businesses and entrepreneurs.  With affordable capital leveraged by community banks and lower taxes, small businesses will be able to innovate and hire new workers, lead our recovery, and emerge stronger from the Bush recession.  The legislation is fully paid for, and helps create a half a million jobs.
