Pelosi Celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

WASHINGTON, May 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement honoring Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, which began on May 1:

As we mark the 100th anniversary of the Angel Island Immigration Station in San Francisco Bay, we remember the thousands who traveled across an ocean in search of hope – only to be detained upon arrival. Today, it is a source of pride that this same destination stands as a museum to honor the survivors and learn from our past.
