FRANKLIN, Tenn., Feb. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- PEDIGREE Foundation announced today that its 2019 grant cycle is now open, and it will be accepting grant applications from animal shelters and rescue organizations through April 30. Over the last 10 years, PEDIGREE Foundation has given more than 5,300 grants, totaling more than $7.3 million, to support people and organizations that help dogs in need find forever homes. This year, PEDIGREE Foundation plans on giving up to $600,000 through its 2019 grant cycle.
"We are honored to enter our 11th year of supporting shelters and rescue organizations around the country who share our mission of finding loving forever homes for all dogs in need," said Deb Fair, Executive Director of PEDIGREE Foundation. "We love seeing the innovative programs and ideas from the grant applicants that make a positive impact on the lives of adoptable dogs, and we look forward to helping make those goals a reality."
Applicants have the option to apply for one of three grants available:
- Dogs RuleTM Grant ($100,000) – This two-year grant ($50,000 per year) will be awarded to one organization to fund new, creative, innovative initiatives that not only help their own organizations, but also serve as best-practice models for other shelters and rescues to help them increase their dog adoption rates.
- Program Development Grants ($5,000 - $10,000) – These grants will support activities and efforts to expand the capabilities to help more dogs adopted.
- Operation Grants (up to $1,000) – These grants will be put toward general operating expenses, including facility and structure renovations or upkeep, veterinary expenses, transportation or any other expense that helps to increase the organization's effectiveness.
