Pediatric Sleep Council Launches Babysleep.com to Help Parents With Baby Sleep Concerns
Pediatric sleep experts share advice in new free resource
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pediatric Sleep Council is excited to announce the launch of babysleep.com, a free resource for parents to receive credible advice for helping their babies sleep better. The Pediatric Sleep Council has produced advice videos with pediatric sleep experts, as well as up-to-date news and research, tips, tricks, and tools to help children and their families get the sleep they need.
"Sleep affects every aspect of a baby's as well as a family's well-being, including mood, learning, and health. Yet, approximately one-third of parents report their child has a sleep problem," remarked Dr. Jodi Mindell, Professor of Psychology at Saint Joseph's University, Associate Director of the Sleep Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and Chair of the Pediatric Sleep Council. "We created babysleep.com to bring awareness to this common problem and provide education and resources to help."
Through babysleep.com, the Pediatric Sleep Council addresses parents' most common problems such as how to get a baby to sleep through the night, how to transition a toddler to a bed, or how to solve nap problems. Although the website is geared toward infants and toddlers, families with older children will also find the information helpful.
Dr. Lisa Meltzer, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at National Jewish Health and member of the Pediatric Sleep Council Board of Directors, said, "Babysleep.com is an amazing resource for parents and clinicians and is easy for families to use. Parents can feel confident in the advice provided by international experts in the field of pediatric sleep; unlike other baby websites, this advice is based on empirically supported treatments and best practices."
Additional areas of the website include:
- Information about sleep, from birth to 36 months
- News and research
- Recommended books and tools
- Searchable database of accredited pediatric sleep centers
Babysleep.com was created for parents. It is also a great resource for pediatricians.
