Peak 10 Announces Multi-Phase Expansion in Nashville
Company Adds Colocation and Cloud Infrastructure; Plans for New Data Center in 2015
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- National IT infrastructure and cloud services provider, Peak 10, Inc., is undergoing a multi-phase expansion at its Nashville, Tenn. location. Phase 1 includes a new cloud cluster as well as 6,600 square feet of additional data center space in what the company will call its Nashville 4 facility, located at 425 Duke Drive, Suite 400 in Franklin, Tenn. Coupled with Peak 10's sales office and three existing data centers this expansion, which will be complete in November 2014, brings the total Nashville footprint to nearly 100,000 square feet. Phase 2 will involve the build-out of a new data center in Nashville which will meet Tier 3 standards including multiple independent distribution paths serving the IT equipment and dual power inputs. Further details on this facility will be released in 2015.
"We are rapidly adding to our community of approximately 400 customers in the Nashville area each month, which prompted the need to expand," said David Smith, Peak 10 vice president and general manager for Nashville operations. "We are increasing our capacity to deliver colocation and cloud services to exceed the IT needs of a vibrant, greater Nashville business community both now, and in the future."
Peak 10's newest cloud cluster is a multi-million dollar investment built on Cisco's Unified Computing System™ (UCS) environment, which serves as the network backbone for the cloud infrastructure and provides compute resources to ensure scalability and overall performance. Peak 10 customers will have more hands-on features with the UCS-based cloud cluster such as self-provisioning, burstable cloud services, and enhanced compliance, redundancy and replication capabilities. Peak 10 deployed its first cloud cluster in Nashville in 2008. The new cluster will accommodate more than 100 cloud customers in the greater Nashville area and across the U.S.
"We see a large and growing number of organizations seeking a seamless, secure and cost-effective cloud solution, and we are glad to work with the Peak 10 cloud and infrastructure teams in deploying the new cloud cluster in its Nashville market," said Sylvain Tremblay, senior director of commercial sales at Cisco.
Peak 10 was named Cisco's 2014 Data Center Cloud Partner of the Year in the Americas. Peak 10 holds the Cisco® Cloud Provider Certification with a Cisco Powered Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) designation and was the first in the Americas to achieve the Cisco Powered Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) designation.
