PDR Network delivers critical drug information to prescribers via EHRs offering unique opportunities to help ensure successful and safe therapy from the moment a medication is prescribed. EHRs representing over 200,000 more prescribers are in contract negotiations to join PDR's drug safety and medication adherences network.
"We are pleased to have earned the trust and confidence of these innovative EHR companies who have already been successful in improving prescriber workflow before, during and after the patient encounters using PDR's services," said Andrew Gelman, Senior Vice President-Corporate Development & EHR Vendor Relations, PDR Network. "By integrating PDR's technology platform, our EHR partners are able to leverage PDR's drug information and safety expertise to provide maximum value to the physician and patient in the exam room and at the point of prescribing. PDR Network and our EHR partners are committed to improving drug and patient safety while reducing provider liability."
PDR Network's EHR partners will become "PDR Certified", an independent certification program that fulfills the FDA's goals for EHRs including:
1. Ensuring that full and up-to-date FDA-approved labeling is available in all EHRs,
2. Delivering time-sensitive drug alerts, warnings and REMS programs at the point of ePrescribing,
3. Integrating adverse drug event reporting into EHRs and other health IT systems, and;
4. Providing better quality drug information and adherence tools for patients.
PDR projects strong growth in the number of physicians and other prescribers reached with these critical drug services—both through increases in the user-base of current EHR partners and through the addition of new EHR partners to the network.
