PDMA Announces "Innovation Application" Programs For 2014 Product Innovation Management Conference
Innovation Standard Training, Lessons from Intel and Starbucks, Plus "Common Challenge Workshops" at annual PIM Conference
CHICAGO, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/-- The Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), the leading advocate and comprehensive resource for product development and innovation, today announced that it has finalized the schedule for its annual Product Innovation Management (PIM) conference, with an extremely strong emphasis on "Innovation Application." Attendees will interact with product development leaders at several organizations, including Starbucks and Intel.
"Our members tell us every day that the greatest benefit they receive from PDMA is real-world applications that have driven true innovation in corporations around the world," said Robert Hale, President and Chairman of PDMA. "Too often innovation is a vague catchphrase, so we wanted to make it tangible at this year's PIM conference. There will be chances for attendees to learn from leaders as well as opportunities to work through their real-world problems. Everyone who attends will be a better innovator when they go back to work."
The five-day conference, from Oct. 18-22 at the Grand Hyatt Denver, includes an annual research forum and the inaugural training sessions for the International Innovation Management Standard, announced this summer by PDMA. Leading figures from the business and academic worlds will be featured throughout the event. Among the event's highlights:
- Innovation Management Standard Training Sessions, held on three consecutive days;
- "Corporate Challenge" interactive workshops that enable attendees to collaborate with product development practitioners about common problems;
- Remarks by Roger Jellicoe, Vice President and Group General Manager for Devices and Development for Intel;
- Presentation of the Outstanding Corporate Innovator awards to biotechnology company Novozymes and coffee giant Starbucks, as well as presentations by those firms on their innovation programs;
- Presentations by: Henry Givray, President and CEO of Smith Bucklin Corp., Gerard Tellis, Director for the Center of Global Innovation at the USC Marshall School of Business, and Udaiyan (UJ) Jatar, Co-Leader for Certified Professional Innovator Program at Georgia State University.
PDMA's Product Innovation Management (PIM) Conference provides attendees several opportunities to connect with the global product development community. Because practitioners constantly redefine and rethink the product development process, PIM is the only innovation event with a unique interactive format that provides attendees with actionable ideas, meaningful relationships and turnkey tools to immediately drive impact for attendees and their companies. Among the attending organizations that have signed up for the conference are Aon, the American Medical Association, DuPont Pioneer, HP, Indiana University, Tempur-Pedic Management LLC, and Tyson Foods, Inc.
