PDA Launches Newly Redesigned Website
HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 16, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA) has launched a newly redesigned website. The new site, still at www.padental.org, features a user-friendly navigation structure, as well as a more intuitive organization of information. A new color palette also was chosen to make the site more eye-catching. The patient section, www.padental.org/patients, contains a wealth of information for the public, and we encourage you to check it out.
Learning about oral health can be both informative and fun for children of all ages, especially when you're learning from PDA's own Topher Tooth. The Kids' Corner, www.padental.org/kidscorner, features interactive games and activities, information on brushing and flossing, answers to frequently asked questions, nutritional information and more.
Are you a teacher gearing up for National Children's Dental Health Month (NCDHM) this February? In addition to the lesson plan kit Pennsylvania's third-grade teachers will soon be receiving, visit the Teachers' Corner at www.padental.org/teacherscorner to access a variety of resources designed to help you educate your students about the importance of good oral health.
The Patient Resource Center, www.padental.org/patientinformation, contains valuable information on a variety of oral health topics. Sample topics include baby bottle tooth decay, braces, brushing and flossing, caring for baby teeth, what to expect at your child's first dental visit, dental anxiety, dental emergencies, finding a dentist, fluoride, mouthguards, nutrition, oral cancer, smokeless tobacco and tooth whitening.
If you need to find a PDA member dentist in your area, use the search feature at www.padental.org/findadentist to search for member dentists by name, county, ZIP code, specialty, city or a combination of search criteria. For example, if you need to find a pediatric dentist in the Harrisburg area, type "Harrisburg" in the city field, select "Pediatric Dentistry" from the specialty dropdown and click the "Search" button. This search would yield results showing that there are three pediatric member dentists in Harrisburg.
Are you looking for free or low-cost dental care? Many of our member dentists offer dental care at a reduced cost to senior citizens on low or fixed incomes through the Senior Dental Care Program. More than 1,000 dentists have participated in this voluntary program, which enables many seniors to obtain affordable dental care and enjoy good oral health and well-being. Visit www.padental.org/sdcp for more information, including eligibility requirements and an online application.
Patients also can search the online clinic directory at www.padental.org/clinicdirectory to find a list of clinics that offer free or reduced-fee dental care. This directory is searchable by county and contains detailed information, such as clinic location and contact information, hours of operation, services provided, patient eligibility criteria, fees and area(s) served.
PDA's website, www.padental.org, is a one-stop resource for all of this information and much more. Our member dentists are committed to ensuring that Pennsylvanians are informed consumers and have access to quality dental care.
