PCS Edventures Reorganizes Into Strategic Business Units and Welcomes New Sales and Marketing Executive to the Company's Management Team
BOISE, Idaho, April 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PCS Edventures!.com, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: PCSV) a leading provider of K-12 programs that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), today announced that the Company has restructured its operations into four strategic business units (SBUs) to better focus its marketing efforts and improve the efficiency of product development, fulfillment, and overall operations.
The new business units include (1) Technology Education, which targets the Company's robotics and engineering programs for the Middle and High School technology educational market; (2) K-6 Classroom, which includes PCS' professional development and student-centered learning products for the elementary classroom; (3) Afterschool, which targets PCS' enrichment programs for the lucrative Afterschool market segment; and (4) International, which focuses upon specialized STEM programs that involve specific International opportunities.
"PCS has experienced significant organic growth in its suite of products and services over the past several years, and we believe it is appropriate and timely to organize our operations into SBUs," noted Robert Grover, President of PCS Edventures. Coincident with the operational restructuring, the Company also announced the addition of Glen McCandless, an education-industry veteran with over 25 years of sales and marketing experience, to its management team as Interim Vice President of Marketing. His background includes 10 years of education marketing, sales and channel management at Apple and 15 years a President of Focus Marketing Inc., a sales, marketing and business development consultancy that assists education-market companies in the development of strategies and programs to accelerate revenue growth and profitability. Mr. McCandless is an active participant in education-industry associations, including the Association of Educational Publishers and the Software and Information Industry Association's Education Division. He is also the creator and manager of SellingToSchools.com, a popular web-based education sales and marketing resource center that represents a portal for timely market information and research, and offers best practices for engaging decision makers in schools.
Mr. McCandless has initially joined PCS as a consultant serving as Interim Vice President of Marketing during PCS' 2011 fiscal year. Part of his mission will be to define the goals and responsibilities of his position, following which he will assist in the identification and training of an executive who will serve as the Company's permanent Marketing Vice President in Fiscal 2012 and beyond.
