PCL Launches a New Client-Centered Website

EDMONTON, June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - The PCL family of companies is pleased to announce the launch of the new PCL.com.

PCL worked with digital technology company Northridge to create the website. The comprehensive process began with interviews conducted with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and post secondary institutions before the design work was done, to determine the needs of PCL.com users. The website was constructed based on feedback from these users, with the goal of making it intuitive and easy to navigate. Hundreds of people worked on the project, and all PCL districts provided input and content.

"We want our website to help our clients make informed decisions about construction services," said Darcy Belanger, manager of digital communications for the PCL family of companies. "With the help of our consultant, Northridge, I believe we've developed a site that accomplishes this goal in addition to giving job seekers and the public a way to stay connected with our organization."

A number of sophisticated technical functions make the site particularly user-friendly. PCL.com delivers content based on a user's location, so the feature stories and projects displayed are specific to the geographic region. The new site allows clients to view a portfolio containing over 500 detailed project profiles. It also integrates social media channels including Twitter and YouTube, as part of PCL's overarching digital communications strategy.
