PCL Construction Projects Receive Multiple ENR Best Project Awards

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PCL Construction is pleased to announce the receipt of two ENR California "Best Projects" Awards. Built by a joint venture between PCL, Turner and Flatiron, The Green Build Terminal 2 Expansion at San Diego International Airport received the Best Project Award in the Airport/Transit category, and The Westfield TBIT (Tom Bradley International Terminal) Concessions Modifications at Los Angeles International Airport received an Award of Merit in the Interiors/Tenant Improvement category. The award-winning projects in Southern California will be honored at a banquet on December 4, 2014 in Long Beach, and will be featured in the December issue of ENR California.

Receiving ENR's "Best Project" award, The Green Build at the San Diego International Airport included a three-story, 460,000 square-foot expansion of Terminal 2, ten new gates, a dual-level roadway, enhanced curbside check-in, more security lanes, an expanded concessions area, and 1,500,000 square feet of new taxiway and jet parking. The Green Build is essential in supporting a nearly 100% anticipated increase in airport traffic over the next 20 years. Earning ENR's "Award of Merit," The Westfield TBIT (Tom Bradley International Terminal) Concessions Modifications project consisted of building approximately 66,300 square feet of core and shell spaces for 47 concessions tenants on the fourth and fifth floors of the TBIT at Los Angeles International Airport. Despite receiving the project six weeks late, PCL was able to complete the project on time while allowing for daily public access to the area.
