PCA SKIN Announces New Executive Leadership as Company Continues to See Fast-Paced Growth
A newly formed board of directors will provide additional advisory to the skin health company
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., May 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PCA SKIN (www.pcaskin.com), the leader in skin health education and the development of highly effective professional treatments and daily care products, today announced new executive leadership to augment the company's explosive growth. Doug Abel, who brings 20 years of aesthetics, dermatology, specialty pharmaceuticals and medical device experience to the company, is now chief executive officer for PCA SKIN. Abel was formerly on the board of directors for Suneva Medical and previous to that has served as senior vice president and general manager of Onset Dermatologics, president and CEO of Manhattan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and vice president and Dermatology Business Unit head for Biogen Idec.
Chris McCrory, PCA SKIN's chief operating officer, will remain in the same position and maintain responsibility for the company's day-to-day operations. In addition to his current role, McCrory has also served as PCA SKIN's chief financial officer and brand oversight director.
A board of directors has also been assembled to augment the new senior leadership, provide guidance and advisory, as well as help PCA SKIN achieve its mission to empower skin health professionals to be as successful as possible in all aspects of their careers. This board of directors includes:
- Richard Linder, Chairman of the Board – Formerly PCA SKIN's CEO, Richard Linder will now serve as chairman of the board for PCA SKIN.
- Steve R. Carlson, Director – Currently serving as the chief executive officer and president of Apnicure, Inc., Carlson has a 25-year record of building successful pharmaceutical companies, leading brands and creating new products. He has held executive positions at Obagi Medical Products, Allergan, ReVance Therapeutics (formerly Essentia Biosystems), and Orquest Inc. (acquired by Johnson and Johnson).
- Christy Taylor, Director – Former chief operating officer of Dey, L.P (sold to Mylan Labs) and chief executive officer of Nelson Professional Sales (sold to Publicis) with a track record of building businesses, Taylor has delivered substantial sales and profitable growth for numerous large and small companies globally in the specialty food, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical and OTC healthcare categories.
