PC-Based Air Interface Drive Test and Analysis Tools Introduced by Anritsu Company
MORGAN HILL, Calif., May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Anritsu Company introduces Link Master™ Air Interface Optimization Tools, PC-based air interference drive test and analysis solutions that allow users to efficiently and effectively deploy, implement, and optimize 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, including LTE. Comprised of two models – the ML8725A Link Master LML air interface logging tools and ML8726A Link Master LMA air interface analysis tools – Link Master can analyze call events, signal strength, neighbor information, and pilot information. It also allows for Quality of Experience (QoE) analysis of voice, video and data transmissions, all of which help operators maximize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reduce churn.
The ML8725A Link Master LML provides multiple options on call set-ups and real-time analysis. Virtually every scenario can be drive tested, as the ML8725A can measure and monitor up to six UEs and two receiver devices performing various voice and data calls. A simple user interface makes it easy to conduct analysis and enables walk testing of multi-story office buildings.
Link Master LML can be configured for voice calls, with periodic, continuous and mobile terminated call scenarios, along with quality of service (QoS) measurements. Additionally, it can be configured for data call scenarios, such as FTP download/upload, HTTP download, Ping test, SMS, E-mail and UDP. Session data can be monitored and compared using the advanced graphing abilities of the Link Master LML.
Layer 3 data can be captured, so users can conduct deep analysis in the field. Link Master LML also allows users to load a table of cell sites on a route while the field technician is driving, so data can be plotted on a map to assist in identifying coverage problems caused by excessive handoffs or interference. Once log data is captured for both voice and data configurations, it can be reloaded and replayed to identify problems.
Air Interface Analysis Tools
Once the ML8725A collects the data, it can be analyzed by the ML8726A Link Master LMA post-processing tools. Utilizing a highly efficient database engine, the ML8726A allows for quick analysis and fast response times of queries. User-definable filters or threshold limits allow users to focus on network performance areas of interest.
In addition to providing in-depth analysis tools to isolate individual or multiple test queries and the issues involved, Link Master LMA allows users to track and record log files. With one-click, user-definable reports can be generated.
The ML8726A provides outdoor as well as in-building analysis of a wireless network during the planning, implementation, optimization or benchmarking stages to meet KPIs for minimum dropped and blocked calls, and maximize data throughput. These tools can be used to analyze multi-story in-building networks with microcells, picocells or femtocells, as well as 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
