NEW YORK, October 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
PaydayLoansOnline.net, the McAfee Secure™ rated U.S. short-term loan finder and consumer finance site, has shared details of a new tip sheet. The decision comes after cell phone carrier T-Mobile drew an to end roaming charges, despite earning a 90% profit on roaming fees levied on international travelers that use their cell phones. However, consumers are advised by PaydayLoansOnline.net that regardless of their carrier, they are able to save on their roaming charges by following some key tips.
T-Mobile announced that from October 31st 2013, it would end international data fees and charges for text messages completely in over 100 countries, in addition to reducing the per minute charges for making calls when roaming abroad to $0.20 per minutes.
Sam Milo, spokesperson for PaydayLoansOnline.net made the announcement about the tip sheet in the following statement.
"As a consumer finance site always on the lookout to help people with bad credit save money, we are delighted by T-Mobile's decision to end expensive roaming charges. As yet, other major carriers AT&T and Verizon have not decided to do that same, but we have put together a tip sheet that highlights some steps cell phone users with these companies can take to reap savings nonetheless."
Some of the tips on how customers of rival cell phone providers can save money on expensive roaming fees include the following:
- Smart phone users can install applications such as Viber. This app is free and has 200 million users worldwide. It allows users to send free text messages and make free calls to other Viber users through Wi-Fi, such as via a café, airport or hotel when traveling.
- iPhone and iPad users can download iMessage to send text messages to each other for free and make video calls with FaceTime.
- Text Me! And HeyWire are two Android apps that facilitate free texting between Android phones and a number of other platforms.
- If in doubt of what roaming charges are, consumers should turn off roaming data when they travel and opt to only connect automatically to free Wi-Fi services when these become available.
