Pavegen pioneered a flooring tile that converts the energy from footsteps into renewable electricity, enough to power applications such as lighting, displays & communications networks. The tiles can collect, monitor & communicate live data using a unique wireless API. Their most recent installation in St Omer train station, Northern France, saw 14 tiles power LED lighting beneath two benches, as well as two USB ports that allowed commuters to charge their electronic devices.
