WANTAGH, N.Y., Nov. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Pave the Way Foundation (PTWF) an international nonsectarian organization with representation in 22 countries, is making a unique gesture in support of peace, in the form of a significant gift to the Holy See Mission to the United Nations. A magnificent 300-pound acrylic cross has been created and dedicated to Saint John Paul II. The monument is being placed in the Mission to the United Nations for the Holy See in New York City on November 29, 2018.
The cross, which measures 34.5x27x8 inches (88x70x20cm), will be presented to His Excellency Archbishop Bernardito Auza Apostolic Nuncio and Permanent Observer to the Holy See. This extraordinary gesture is made possible through the generosity of a number of donors including the Meisner Galleries, who originated the project along with PTWF directors Stanley Browne and Jay Parker, and with additional support from Mr. Marvin Kaplan. This beautiful piece was crafted by Mitch Meisner along with artist Colby Grace, former World Trade Center anthropologist, who experienced the pain of hatred when he was stationed at the ground zero repository. The barbaric attack on the United States encouraged Mr. Grace to join the military.
The dedication placard reads:
H.E. Archbishop Bernardito Auza Apostolic Nuncio, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations
Given with love and respect to the Holy See Mission to the United Nations
The Saint John Paul Peace Cross is given with the prayerful wishes that it inspires the legacy of respect for human dignity as embodied by Saint John Paul II, on all those who gaze upon it.
Crafted with love and admiration by Colby Grace and Mitchell Meisner.
Through the generosity of:
Mitchell and Hillary Meisner
Stanley and Esther Browne
