Paul Walter, Ph.D is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals
OBERWIL, Switzerland, Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul Walter, Ph.D is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Higher Education as a result of his role as Dean of Medical Faculty and Professor Emeritus at the University of Basel.

Upon serving for twenty five years as a full professor of Biochemistry and Nutrition at the University's medical school and as a Director of the Swiss Vitamin Institute, Professor Walter has written over 150 publications in the field of carbohydrate and energy metabolism as well as vitamins and biologically active plant constituents. In addition, he reviews journals and had co-authored Reference Values for Nutrient Intake issued by the nutrition societies of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
Professor Walter was Chief Editor of the International Journal of Vitamin and Nutrition Research for eleven years, and is the Former President of the International Life Sciences Institute (ISLI) at the University of Basel. ISLI is a nonprofit, worldwide organization whose mission is to provide science that improves human health and well-being and safeguards the environment. This mission is achieved by fostering collaboration among experts from academia, government, and industry on conducting, gathering, summarizing, and disseminating science.
Throughout the course of his illustrious career, Professor Walter has served on the pre-selection committee for the DSM Nutrition Award for Human Nutrition, and was the Former President of the Swiss Academy of Sciences, Former President of the European Academy of Nutritional Sciences, as well as the Former President of the Union of Swiss Societies for Experimental Biology.
Moreover, he enjoys music and piano in his spare time, and is married with two children. Professor Walter received his Ph.D in Organic Chemistry from ETH Zurich.
