Paul Swart of TriMas Corporation Named Controller and Chief Accounting Officer

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --  TriMas Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer of engineered and applied products – announced today that Paul Swart was named controller and chief accounting officer of TriMas. He previously held the position of vice president and corporate controller. He will continue to report to Mark Zeffiro, chief financial officer at TriMas.

In this role, Swart will continue to be responsible for the oversight of the company's technical accounting and compliance of accounting policies and rules, fulfillment of regulatory reporting and disclosure requirements, and oversee the accounting and budgetary processes for corporate office departments and other centrally handled accounts. He also has accountability for company-wide payroll security and compliance, and the financial review and approval of company-wide significant commercial contracts, capital expenditure appropriations and real estate transactions.

Swart joined TriMas in 2003. Prior to his current position, Swart held various positions of increasing responsibility within TriMas, including manager of financial reporting and consolidation, controller of TriMas' Cequent Towing Products division (now part of Cequent Performance Products), TriMas' director of accounting and statutory reporting, and vice president and corporate controller. He previously worked at Ernst & Young LLP as manager of Assurance and Advisory Business Services. During his tenure in public accounting, he managed all phases of audit engagements for companies ranging from domestic private companies to multinational SEC registrants.

Swart earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with an accounting concentration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and is a Certified Public Accountant.
