Paul Pope Issues Commentary on Recent Media Coverage, Providing Legal Documentation to Support
PALM BEACH, Fla., May 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul Pope, son of legendary National Enquirer founder, Generoso Pope, has issued a formal response and legal documentation support as a reply to recent media attention surrounding the legal battle between him and his mother, Lois Pope.
"The article in Page Six of the New York Post on Sunday, May 5th accurately reflects current actions being taken by my attorney to uncover the truth about my father's fortune and makes formal inquiry as to where the money has gone. As part of this process, we are requesting former financial advisors disclose former tax and accounting documents, as there are discrepancies in what has been reported."
The National Enquirer tabloid was sold for $412.5 million following Generoso's death in 1988, and mother and son have been in litigation since that time, as Paul has claimed that he had lost his birthright to the publication.
"With increasing media attention from the New York Post, the Miami New Times, and the Palm Beach Daily News, I felt it necessary to put out a formal response and to let the public know that I am presenting full disclosure moving forward to protect my family's legacy," Pope continues.
