Paul DeNicola of The Conference Board Named to Directorship 100 for Second Consecutive Year
NEW YORK, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul DeNicola, Director of The Conference Board Governance Center and Directors' Institute, has been named to the Directorship 100, a list of the most influential individuals in corporate governance, for the second year in a row.
Published by Directorship magazine yesterday, the list recognizes the people and institutions that are shaping agendas in boardrooms across America.
The selection process involved a distinguished board of advisers, reader surveys, and the editors of Directorship.
"Paul's able leadership of our Center during a year of tremendous change in the corporate governance world is testament to his deep expertise in all matters relating to boards and corporate values," says Jon Spector, CEO of The Conference Board. "His re-election to the Directorship 100 is a fine achievement that reflects on Paul's success in developing innovative governance programs for The Conference Board in this fast-moving environment."
"We are very proud of the work that Paul does every day to further the effective governance of public companies for society's betterment," says R. William Ide, III, Chairman of The Conference Board Governance Center Advisory Board. "Corporate governance is at a tipping point. The Governance Center is dedicated to contributing much-needed thought leadership and education that encourage the optimization of free market principles and maximum stewardship to the public interest."
Last year, The Conference Board Governance Center released recommendations on executive compensation practices that resulted from a Task Force it convened on the subject. The recommendations provided principles to help companies restore trust in pay practices and board oversight.
Earlier this year, the Governance Center issued The Conference Board Shareholder Activism Resources, which included a report and web portal offering practical guides for public companies, active-value asset managers, and advisers.
In addition to his position at The Conference Board, DeNicola is an assistant professor of philosophy at the European Graduate School and adjunct professor at the City University of New York and Nassau Community College.
