Paul Crespo For Congress (FL-25)
PAUL CRESPO'S BOLD FLAT TAX PLAN
MIAMI, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Directly on the heels of launching his outsider campaign for U.S. Congress in Florida's District 25, Republican candidate Paul Crespo has announced a bold Flat Tax plan he pledges to introduce in the House of Representatives when elected. Crespo is a former Marine Corps officer, conservative columnist, talk show host and activist.
Crespo's plan, "Flat Tax 2010," includes a $15,000 deduction per individual and a low Flat Tax rate of 12%. Under his plan a family of four that earns $60,000 or less would not have to pay one cent of Income Tax. Any income above that would be taxed at a Flat Rate of 12%. The plan is simple and straightforward, and returns can be filed on a postcard-sized form in less than five minutes.
With this Flat Tax plan there's no need to pay a tax preparer, accountant or attorney. No need for 500 IRS forms. And no need for the 70,000 page U.S. Tax Code.
With this plan no one would have to worry about a minor mistake triggering a dreaded IRS audit.
Responding to potential questions about the ability of his Flat tax proposal to fund the federal government at current levels, Crespo responded, "This plan is not about funding the government at current levels, it's about bringing relief to hard working taxpayers by allowing them to keep more of their own money and simplifying their lives," adding, "if average Americans need to live within their means, so should their government!"
History has also shown that such a low tax would unleash massive economic growth and spur job creation. "Lower taxes don't just mean more of our money in our pockets, they also mean more jobs," emphasizes Crespo.
For those who like the current tax code with its 500 forms and 70,000-plus pages, Paul Crespo's plan provides a choice. "You can opt out of the Flat Tax and pay under the current code if that's what you prefer," said Crespo, "But the time has come for a Flat Tax."
