BOSTON, Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Paul Basso has joined the firm as a partner in the Internal Audit Services practice. Basso joins PwC from Ernst & Young, where he was a principal leading the US Insurance Process and Controls practice. He will be based in Boston and will serve clients in the Northeast, which includes the firm's offices in Boston, Hartford, Conn. and Albany, N.Y.

Basso brings more than 25 years of experience to his new role, with expertise transforming and operating internal audit functions, providing risk advisory services, as well as IT controls, and enterprise risk management and compliance operations across multiple industries.
Basso's experience includes advising global, multi-billion dollar diversified financial service firms, large asset managers, insurance companies, and clients across health sciences, technology, gaming, hospitality and manufacturing industries. Basso will draw on his industry expertise to serve PwC's clients, developing and implementing solutions to help improve the value that internal audit brings to organizations.
Basso is a Certified Internal Auditor, and holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Business from St. Anselm College.
