Patriot Coal Receives Safety Award for Outstanding Performance at the Patriot Surface Mine
ST. LOUIS, Nov. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Patriot Coal Corporation (NYSE: PCX) today announced the Patriot Surface Mine, located in Henderson County, Kentucky, received a Surface Safety Award from the Kentucky Department for Natural Resources. The award was presented for the safest surface mining operation in the Madisonville District and was based on the number of reportable injuries, regulatory compliance and overall safety performance of the operation. The Patriot Surface Mine produces more than 1.0 million tons of thermal coal per year.
