Patrick Wang to Lead AmCham-China's Government Relations Team
BEIJING, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham-China) announced that Patrick Wang will be the chamber's next vice president of government relations effective immediately. Prior to joining AmCham-China, Mr. Wang served as the director of government and public affairs at Nike Greater China. He concurrently served as vice chairman of the Quality Brands Protection Committee (QBPC), a leading anti-counterfeiting organization. He has long been an active chamber member.
"Patrick brings a wealth of experience to the organization," said AmCham-China President Christian Murck. "He will provide excellent leadership in tackling the policy issues that face the American business community in China."
Reporting to the president, the AmCham-China vice president of government relations is responsible for the chamber's advocacy efforts with the Chinese and US governments. The vice president of government relations oversees major policy initiatives, including the White Paper on the State of American Business in China, the annual Business Climate Survey and the Washington, DC Outreach.
"I'm excited to take on this new challenge," Mr. Wang said. "This is a critical moment in the US-China economic relationship, and I'm looking forward to playing a positive role in strengthening bilateral ties."
At Nike and QBPC, Patrick had a distinguished career in government affairs, anti-counterfeiting and promotion of intellectual property rights, corporate positioning, and corporate social responsibility. Before joining Nike, Patrick worked in the Ministry of Education. He holds two master's degrees and a Doctor of Education degree from Columbia University.
