Patrick M. Fahey Retires from First Sound Bank Board of Directors Steve Schwartz Elected Chairman of the Board
SEATTLE, July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- First Sound Bank (OTCBB:FSWA) today announced that Patrick M. Fahey has retired as a member of its board of directors. Fahey has served as First Sound Bank's chairman of the board since January 1, 2012, and as its chairman, president and CEO from 2012 through 2016.
Steven J. Schwartz, who has served on the First Sound Bank Board of Directors since 2006, has been elected to serve as its new chairman.
In announcing Fahey's retirement, First Sound Bank President and CEO Jon Shelton stated, "Pat Fahey, a pillar in the Washington banking industry for five decades, has been a critical component in ensuring the success of First Sound since he joined us in early 2012. We wish him well in his retirement and sincerely appreciate his leadership, his strong support of our organization, and his invaluable contributions to our team over the years. He will be sorely missed."
Fahey deservedly looks forward to spending more time with his wife of 54 years, Barbara, his children, and his 14 grandchildren. He also looks forward to spending time at his summer lake property and enjoying his boat in the Pacific Northwest waters.
Fahey began his very long and storied banking career with Seattle-First National Bank in 1967, following his service as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer. He rose to an executive level position at Seattle-First, then served as president and chief operating officer with Old National Bank for four years. In 1987, he left Old National to start Pacific Northwest Bank, where he served as its chairman, president and CEO. It was under Fahey's leadership that Pacific Northwest Bank grew to become the largest commercial bank in the Northwest, before its acquisition by Wells Fargo Bank in 2004. Later, Fahey came out of retirement to consult with banks, before eventually assuming the role of chairman, president and CEO of First Sound Bank in 2012.
First Sound Bank President and CEO Shelton also was pleased to announce Schwartz's new appointment. "We are extremely fortunate that Steve Schwartz has agreed to assume the role of chairman of the board." Schwartz has a very successful history in the Seattle commercial real estate services industry. He is currently a senior vice president with CBRE Group Inc. in Seattle, where he advises tenants on their occupancy and leasing strategies throughout the Northwest and beyond. Prior to joining CBRE, Schwartz was a managing director at JLL, a national commercial real estate company. In 1992, he co-founded Pacific Real Estate Partners, Inc. and helped lead its growth in the region, culminating in the firm's acquisition by JLL in 2011. Schwartz is very active in a number of community and civic organizations.
