Patrick A. Bradford And Craig Bolton Join The Manhattan Office Of Pierce Bainbridge
NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Patrick A. Bradford, formerly a litigation partner with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, has joined the partnership of Pierce Bainbridge Price & Hecht LLP ("Pierce Bainbridge") in its New York office, which has more than doubled since July. Patrick is a complex commercial litigator who practiced at Davis Polk for almost twenty years and was the first African-American at the firm to be elected as an equity partner in the firm's then 149-year history. His specialty areas include antitrust, securities enforcement, corporate investigations and international Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.
Patrick has worked on many general commercial disputes, including tax, real estate, accounting and partnership disputes. He has represented Fortune 500 companies in complex business litigation matters in federal courts throughout the country. He also routinely represented clients as antitrust counsel before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Over the course of his career, Patrick represented Benckiser N.V. before the FTC in connection with the company's $3.5 billion merger with Reckitt & Coleman plc and Deutsche Post AG in connection with the company's $1.14 billion merger with Air Express International. Patrick regularly represented Comcast Corporation and Emerson Electric Co. in antitrust matters. Patrick also represented Banc of America Securities LLC in connection with SEC and FINRA investigations of the bank's issuance of equity research reports. He represented the audit committee of Repsol YPF, SA in connection with an investigation of the reduction of proved oil reserves and Siemens AG in connection with a Department of Justice FCPA investigation of the company's proposed sale of a $1 billion subsidiary. Patrick's trial work includes defending KPMG LLP in federal court on a complaint of negligence and breach of contract.
At Pierce Bainbridge, Patrick will continue to work on complex business cases and corporate investigations. Patrick joins Pierce Bainbridge from the government where, in addition to federal cases, he worked on New York state court cases. Patrick served as General Counsel of the New York State park system under an appointment from Governor Andrew Cuomo. He was most recently Chief Litigation & Ethics Counsel for the New York City Council, under an appointment from the Council Speaker. In this role, he represented the Council and various Council Members in both state and federal courts. His work included cases involving constitutional claims, separation of powers, real estate, legislative immunity, and the defense of laws passed by the City Council. He was also the top ethics lawyer with State Parks and the Council.
Patrick is an honors graduate of Harvard College (1986) and the New York University School of Law (1989). Following law school, he clerked on the federal district court in Philadelphia. In addition to his law practice, Patrick currently teaches Antitrust Law as an Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School.
Patrick will join another recent partner hire, Craig Bolton, formerly of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC. Recognized each of the past four years by Super Lawyers as a New York Rising Star, Craig is an experienced litigator who focuses on complex commercial and intellectual property disputes. He has represented corporations at every phase of their life cycles, from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. His clients recognize him for his flexible and tactical approach to litigation and his focus on helping them achieve not just victory but their larger business objectives. Craig is a graduate of New York University School of Law and the University of California, Davis. Earlier in his career, he clerked on the federal district court in Newark, New Jersey.
