Patheos Begins General Solicitation under JOBS Act Changes
Fast-Growing Multifaith Website Seeks Investors Who Believe in Civil Dialogue
DENVER, Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Patheos.com, the world's premier online destination for global dialogue on religion and spirituality, today announced that it will use the new "general solicitation" provisions of the recently enacted JOBS Act to market its investment offering to millions of individuals. Under Rule 506 [c], Patheos will launch a debt offering marketed to the general public.
"Since the beginning of Patheos, five years ago, we have believed that this critical conversation belongs to all of us," said Leo Brunnick, Patheos CEO. "So rather than align with any single institution – religious or financial – we've remained independent. We have been financed entirely by more than 60 individuals who have invested more than $7M – all of whom believe in the mission, but also want to see their investment prosper. It is rare when 'doing well' and 'doing good' align, but this is one of those opportunities."
Patheos is home to more than 350 of the world's best writers and thought leaders in religion and spirituality. More than 4,000,000 people worldwide visit Patheos every month.
"As a small company, we are grateful for this progressive legislation that provides a new venue for raising capital. Until now we have been talking to people one at a time. Now we will take that story to the millions of people who care about what we are doing."
