Pathbrite Secures Five Million New Student Users
Partnership with Cengage Learning brings digital portfolios to learners on hundreds of additional campuses
SAN FRANCISCO, April 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Pathbrite, the world's leading portfolio platform, today announced the addition of over five million new student users. Through an integration with Cengage Learning's MindTap platform, students at more than 1,000 colleges and universities across the country are now using Pathbrite.
"We are excited to partner with Cengage Learning," said Pathbrite founder and CEO, Heather Hiles. "Increasingly, students and schools are looking for a platform to capture learning growth, and also articulate the value they can offer employers. Pathbrite is a great tool to tell individual stories of mastery and achievement. Schools can use our portfolios to counsel young people and coach them in how to curate the most compelling story and showcase the knowledge they have acquired and applied.
With the ability to customize any number of portfolios, Pathbrite enables users to tailor their stories of mastery for various employers and admissions officers. Evidence of passions, creations, achievements and accomplishments inside and outside the classroom all fit together in state-of-the-art digital portfolios, to paint a fuller, more holistic picture for employers, clients and admissions officers. Additionally the portfolio accounts are portable and built to use for life. This means users hold onto and keep track of all of their content.
Pathbrite's new student users are currently receiving course content through MindTap, and will be able to retain their basic accounts after their courses are completed. In the future, learners will also be able to purchase premium capabilities, including access to analytics and specific application templates from participating employers. Premium features will be available by the end of 2015.
Many colleges and universities are buying Pathbrite licenses on behalf of their students, to improve, teach and advise students for career-readiness. Students are also creating their own Pathbrite accounts when they're not offered at the school. "The university can introduce me to employers, but at the end of the day, I have to be able show and tell the story about my skills and experiences for myself," commented Maya Robinson, a sophomore at Howard University.
Leading companies are beginning to use Pathbrite to better assess applicant abilities and non-cognitive skills prior to making a hiring decision and for on-going evaluation, guidance and development. Pathbrite is an adaptable tool that grows with the recent college graduate employee.
