The highly acclaimed series focuses on educating gay women with critical information they need when considering pregnancy. A core focus on family-building safety for LGBT families from legal and medical perspectives, despite the strides made in marriage equality law, is stressed. Issues include choosing between known and unknown sperm donors, conceiving at home or in a doctor's office and fertility health. Stellar event faculties include Dr. Sara J. Mucowski, Dallas IVF and Jenny L. Womack, P.C. in Dallas, and Dr. Ertug Kovanci, Houston Fertility Specialists and Debra E. Hunt, Esq., Moore & Hunt in Houston. Aspire Fertility is Educational Gift Bag Sponsor for both events.
"The Gay Women's Gatherings are my absolute favorite events and we've had amazing responses from attendees over the last few years. We're even starting to see familiar faces from a year or two ago with the babies they were only dreaming about when we first met. 20 years ago, over 90 percent of our clients were hetero couples. Today, thanks in large part to the efforts of groups like Path2Parenthood and these events, more than half are two-mommy families," said Scott Brown, Director of Client Experience & Communications at California Cryobank. Brown, a faculty member for both events stated, "California Cryobank is proud to be part of these important evenings of family building education and support."
"One of the most exhilarating experiences of my work for the past four years has been to be in a room with a group of hopeful parents, delivering information they need to take next steps on their path to having a child. Thanks to California Cryobank's ongoing sponsorship, Path2Parenthood's Gay Women's Gatherings have expanded to 10 cities, and I'm looking forward to being at all of them, sharing the joy of anticipation with hopeful moms nationwide," said Path2Parenthood Executive Director, Ken Mosesian.
The Houston event takes place Wednesday, March 9th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Montrose Center, 401 Branard St., Rm. 106, Houston, TX 77006. The Dallas event takes place Wednesday, March 16th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Cathedral of Hope, Interfaith Peace Chapel, 5910 Cedar Springs Rd., Dallas, TX 75235.
Both evenings are focused on the lesbian community, but all are welcome. A drawing for one free vial of sperm from the donor of your choice, valued at $595-$795, will take place at each event, compliments of California Cryobank. Refreshments will be served and educational gift bags given to all participants. The events are free, but reservations are preferred. Email your reservation or questions to email.
