Pataki said:
"Having rammed through ObamaCare against the wishes of the American people, President Obama is now trying to sneak through by recess appointment his proposed head of CMS.
"With the decision to install Dr. Donald M. Berwick as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services through a recess appointment, President Obama is trying to avoid public disclosure of the views of the man who will have enormous unprecedented power over the healthcare of every single American. This is wrong. The American people deserve far better, and they certainly deserve a full public discussion of Dr Berwick's radical views.
"Dr. Berwick has made clear his unmitigated preference for the rationing of care and the institution of across-the-board mandatory treatment regimens at the expense of doctors practicing medicine based on the unique needs of individuals. His long record of embracing and promoting socialist-style, government-run health care represents a clear and present danger to every patient and every physician across the country."
