Pat Kelly, R.N., CLNC, is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals

MAPLE GROVE, Minn., April 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Pat Kelly, R.N., CLNC, is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Nursing as a Legal Nurse Consultant as a result of her role as Owner of Kelly Legal Nurse Consulting LLC.

As a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, she assists the attorney to navigate the complex world of medical records. While the attorney is the legal expert, Pat is the expert on the healthcare system and its inner workings. As a CLNC, her role is to provide cost-effective expertise for reviewing medical records, and understanding the subtleties of the healthcare system. She screens the records to eliminate the expense of nonmeritorious lawsuits, and analyzes the electronic records, hospital policies and procedures, and interprets their relevance to the attorney's case. Pat's task is to identify adherences to and deviations from the applicable standards of care, detect tampering within medical records as well as determine causation and damages. She also assists with discovery by preparing interrogatories and requests for production. Her responsibility is to develop reports and chronologies to highlight the significant medical events and how they fit into the overall case analysis. She also researches and applies authoritative medical and nursing literature as it applies to the case.

Pat has three decades of experience in direct patient care in a variety of healthcare environments and she is currently active in Nursing. Her expertise includes geriatric nursing and comorbidities related to the population, patient education, would care assessment and management.

As a member of the National Association of Professional Women, she was recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of the Year. Aside from the demands of work, Pat enjoys reading, music, walking, knitting, quilting, sewing, and meeting friends for coffee.

Reflecting on her educational career, Pat received her credentials as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant from the Vicki Milazzo Institute in Houston, Texas, and she also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Edgewood college in Madison, Wisconsin.
