PASSUR has Contracted and Installed its New Surface Management System, Including PASSUR Surface Surveillance Technology, at Three Airports, and is Under Contract for Three Additional Installations
STAMFORD, Conn., April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PASSUR Aerospace, Inc. (OTC: PSSR), an aviation business intelligence, big data, and software solutions company, announced that it has contracted and installed its Surface Management System, including PASSUR Surface Multilateration "SMLAT" surveillance technology, at three airports, and is under contract for three additional installations of its Surface Management System.
PASSUR Surface Management – a module of PASSUR Integrated Traffic Management (PITM) – is integrated with terminal and en-route flight tracking for a gate-to-gate airport, flight, and airspace visualization platform. Beyond tracking aircraft on the surface, it includes dashboards of key performance metrics, alerts, and predictive analytics to enable management by exception and optimization of key operational and business metrics.
PASSUR SMLAT technology broadens and strengthens surface surveillance at an airport, either to extend coverage to areas not currently within an existing surface surveillance system's capture range, or to provide surface surveillance capabilities to an airport where none are currently in place.
The extended, gate-to-gate surveillance helps to manage and optimize constraints across the entire flight, including some of the most complex, expensive, and disruptive operations such as tarmac delays, gate holds, taxi queues, turn times, return-to-gate, diversions, and deicing. It also provides analytical and diagnostic tools to identify specific operational areas that require focus and attention, for long-term continuous improvement.
Additional customer benefits include:
- De-conflicting congested taxiways and ramps to enable aircraft to depart or arrive in the correct sequence and on time;
- Reducing the problem of arriving aircraft waiting for a gate;
- Faster turn times (transition of aircraft from arrival to departure); and
- Making it easier for passengers to make their flight connections
"This new program is a breakthrough for our customers – including to-the-gate aircraft tracking along with decision support and analytical tools on a single platform, allowing airlines and airports to focus on their most important performance metrics," said Jim Barry, President and CEO of PASSUR Aerospace. "The demand has been strong for this new capability."
