'Passenger Choice Awards' Survey Gives Passengers Direct Way to Talk to Airlines
NEW YORK, June 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Graduations, summer vacations, weddings – chances are good that you'll be boarding a plane in the next few weeks. Take control of your inflight experience by giving your feedback directly to the airline. The Passenger Choice Awards are a way for you, the passenger, to rate every aspect of the travel experience. This is your way to say which airline is rated the best!
The Passenger Choice Awards give passengers a way to recognize when airlines get it right and to let them know when there is room for improvement. The deadline to participate for 2014 is 30 June.
"What makes this awards program so useful for passengers is that the data collected is sent directly to airlines at regular intervals. And it's not just the raw ratings they see – airlines actually get to read passengers' written comments," said Katie Goshgarian, general manager for the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), the group that created the awards. "In addition to invaluable data, airlines are competing for the best airline award, chosen by passengers, at the annual Awards Ceremony, this year to be held in September in Anaheim, California."
Passengers may complete the survey after every flight by visiting www.passengerchoiceawards.com. The survey is customizable and asks passengers to rate aspects of the travel experience that are applicable to them. Questions cover ticketing, ground experience, comfort, inflight entertainment and more. Results, including individual comments, are tabulated by ratings and research specialists at The Nielsen Company and are sent to the airlines.
Past winners include Virgin America, which was awarded with the Best Overall Passenger Experience award in 2013. TAP Portugal wowed passengers with its inflight video, and Norwegian Air Shuttle was honored for Best Inflight Connectivity & Communications, to name a few.
