'Party All the Time' R.B.I. Baseball 14 Launches
#RBI14 available on PlayStation®3, Xbox 360® & iPhone, iPad & iPod touch
NEW YORK, April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- R.B.I. Baseball 14 launched on the App Store earlier this morning, where it currently ranks as the highest-grossing sports game for both iPhone and iPad, and now is available across all of its launch platforms, including as a digital download on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft. The first console game developed by MLBAM also marks the return of a popular video game brand not seen in two decades.
'I MISS(ED) YOU'
The long awaited video game brand returns and is fully re-imagined with modern stylized graphics. R.B.I. Baseball 14 stays true to the roots of this iconic video game genre, delivering an accessible, fast-paced, simple, fun and competitive game with classic two-button controls.
'GREATEST LOVE(S) OF ALL'
Fans will be able to play R.B.I. Baseball 14 with any of their favorite MLB teams, including 16-player rosters to simulate the genre's model with 480 active MLB players, as well as the American and National League All-Star teams.
There will be three regular season modes to choose from, in addition to Postseason and Exhibition modes. In Postseason mode, a fan's franchise will compete for the World Series Championship as the Wild Card in its respective league against a randomly generated bracket of Wild Card and Division Champions.
'TRUE COLORS'
Designed to maintain the simplicity and enjoyment of the genre while introducing an up-to-date gameplay challenge, MLBAM has developed each MLB player's skill and characteristics to track from his actual on-field performance. This was completed utilizing data from the hundreds of millions of data points MLBAM collects each season.
'ALL I NEED IS A MIRACLE'
Exclusively in any of the season modes, fans will be able to unlock special retro uniforms for all 30 MLB teams, including classic jerseys, pants and caps such as the Brooklyn Dodgers (LAD), Montreal Expos blue (WSH) and 'We Are Family' Pittsburgh Pirates, by accomplishing a variety of free customized challenges. Each franchise will have its own challenge for fans to complete.
'SAY YOU, SAY ME'
"We are very excited to debut R.B.I. Baseball 14 and share a fun, enjoyable game with baseball fans and gamers alike," said Jamie Leece, VP, Games, MLBAM. "They will re-connect with an iconic brand from an iconic genre, re-imagined for the most personal and powerful gaming devices, and experience the unique grafting of accessibility and gameplay strategy we have built into R.B.I. Baseball 14."
'I CAN'T WAIT'
R.B.I. Baseball 14, developed by MLBAM and officially licensed by MLB and MLBPA, is expected to be available later this spring for Android smartphones and tablets, the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft.
