Partnerships In Clinical Trials Nominates Christine Pierre for Clinical Trial Business Woman of the Year
President of the Society for Clinical Research Sites Recognized for Innovative Work
ROCKVILLE, Md., April 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) is pleased to announce that President Christine Pierre has been nominated for the Clinical Trial Business Woman of the Year Award. This prestigious award, granted by the Partnerships in Clinical Trials (PCT), recognizes a woman who has exemplified strong and innovative leadership and has set an example to other women in the clinical trials industry on a global scale. It will be presented as part of the upcoming Partnerships in Clinical Trials conference, which will take place April 21 - 24 in Orlando, Florida. The winner will be chosen by the PCT Advisory Board members, made up of executives across the clinical trial landscape including sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), and industry consultant experts.
"This is truly an honor, not only to be nominated by my esteemed colleagues, but also because this nomination indicates that sites are truly being recognized for their contribution to the research ecosystem. I have always worked from a position of passion and not recognition, however, it is wonderful to have this work acknowledged because it gives validity to the sites, their voice and collective influence," says Ms. Pierre.
In October 2012, at the Site Solutions Summit, an annual gathering of clinical trial stakeholders, Ms. Pierre announced the formation of SCRS, a trade association dedicated to providing a voice and community to clinical research sites across the globe. As an SCRS representative, she has been appointed to the Board of the Metrics Champion Consortium (MCC), a global non-profit organization that develops standardized performance metrics for the clinical trials industry. She is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI), and a member of the Board of Advisors for both the Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP) and Hands Across the Americas.
Ms. Pierre is internationally known for her expertise in clinical research site management and patient recruitment and retention in the clinical trials industry. In this capacity, she is a frequent guest speaker at industry conferences, having addressed audiences in the United States and around the globe.
