Parkway Corporation Provides Notice of Payment Card Issue
PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 5, 2014, Parkway Corporation was notified by the company that provides and maintains the payment card processing system for the Parkway parking facility located at 625 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 about a potential compromise of customer credit card information used at the Sansom Street facility. Parkway was also notified that the company stopped the suspected compromise and that credit card data was no longer at risk. Upon learning of this issue, Parkway quickly moved to investigate and confirm the nature and scope of the suspected compromise. Leading independent forensic experts were retained to assist with Parkway's investigation. Parkway also reported this incident to law enforcement.
While the investigation is ongoing, Parkway has confirmed that malware was placed on the payment card processing system putting credit cards used at the parking facility at 625 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 between October 8, 2014 and October 30, 2014 at risk. The investigation has determined that no more than 1,630 transactions may be at risk. The specific credit card data compromised includes a combination of the cardholder's name, card number, expiration date and CVV data.
The investigation has confirmed that the compromise has ended and the malware has been removed from the payment card processing system. Credit cards used at this facility are no longer at risk. Parkway has also confirmed that the Sansom Street facility is the only Parkway facility affected by this compromise. Further, this facility uses a different system for monthly parking customers and the investigation has confirmed that credit cards processed by this separate system were not affected.
To assist affected customers, Parkway is providing access to 12 months of credit monitoring and identity restoration services. The identity restoration service is automatically available to affected customers with no enrollment required. If a problem arises, simply call 1-866-979-2594 and a dedicated investigator will do the work to recover financial losses, restore their credit and make sure their identity is returned to its proper condition. Additional identity protection services, including credit monitoring are also available. Customers can learn more about these complimentary services and how to enroll in the credit monitoring by calling Parkway's confidential hotline.
