Parkmobile, LLC to Establish Center for Parking Innovation in Boston
Parkmobile leverages Boston's climate of innovation to deploy the first U.S. center for the development and testing of new parking technologies.
ATLANTA, Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Parkmobile, LLC announced Monday its plans to open its first U.S. - based Parking Innovation Center in Boston during the first quarter of 2015. The center's core mission is to collaborate with other local technology start-ups to integrate the latest technology and tools helping consumers streamline the process of identifying and paying for parking in the greater Boston area. The Boston facility will be the first of a series of new Parking Innovation Centers to be established across the United States, and will also serve as the flagship technology center bringing together Parkmobile's integrated platform supporting on – demand and pre – paid parking, parking reservations, event parking, valet parking, residential parking permits, and deep parking industry and payments integrations.

Parkmobile will leverage its expanding footprint in the Boston area, and its connected car integrations with BMW, Ford, Volvo and other OEM platforms to reduce urban congestion and improve urban mobility. The center will leverage new tools and technologies, including the connected car platforms, beacon technology, license plate recognition and Big Data from emerging city grids, to deploy and test disruptive technologies in the Boston area. Parkmobile's deployable footprint in the Boston area is comprised of tens of thousands of parking spaces, including Harvard Medical School, MIT and Boston University, as well as currently serving Fenway Park, TD Garden and Seaport event venues. Parkmobile serves 12 communities in the Boston area, including deployment of its Click and Park reservation system in the City of Boston. Later this month the company will deploy its on-demand payment solution citywide in Somerville.
