ATLANTA, June 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP, a mid-sized firm with an integrated collection of exceptional boutique practices covering a broad range of industries, announces the dismissal of a class action lawsuit filed against its clients, AAMCO Transmissions, Inc. and certain of its affiliates and executives (collectively, "AAMCO").
The dismissed case, Timothy Montileone v. AAMCO Transmissions, Inc., et al., involved plaintiffs – four former AAMCO franchisees and one existing franchisee – claiming violations of federal law against AAMCO based on alleged events during the process of purchasing franchises and the course of the franchise relationships. To counteract these claims, Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs filed a comprehensive motion to dismiss the case on AAMCO's behalf. Rather than opposing the motion, the plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed their complaint and requested non-binding mediation under the dispute resolution provision of their franchise agreements.
"We are pleased that the court granted the plaintiffs' request to dismiss the claims," said Ron Coleman, partner at Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs and lead counsel for AAMCO.
As the world's leading transmission expert, AAMCO employs the latest technology at nearly 700 locally owned and independent service centers across North America. The brand continues to remain focused on expanding its brand presence in new and existing markets across the country.
