Parker & Sons Provides Advice on Winter Home Service Issues
Parker & Sons rejects the widely held belief that Phoenix doesn't have seasons. It is said, that the desert passes through two phases over the course of the year, hot, and not as not. While Phoenix does not become a wintry vision, cloaked in white, sumptuous sheets of snow during the more brutal months of the year, it does experience bitter cold, blustery days.
PHOENIX, Dec. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- There are things to consider as homeowners as Phoenix settles into winter. Parker & Sons advises on important aspects of winter home maintenance.

Parker & Sons helps homeowners establish a set of priorities in terms of winter home maintenance. First, individuals should schedule a tune-up for their home heating system. A qualified technician can make sure the system is in good repair, working at peak efficiency, and is not emitting deadly gasses like carbon monoxide. In terms of scheduling these inspections, earlier is always better. Additionally, it is wise to schedule an inspection with an HVAC technician who has been NATE certified. The NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is the highest level of certification available to HVAC professionals working in the United States.
Parker & Sons provides an interesting tip which will help homeowners save on their monthly energy bill by easing the load placed on their heating system. Many ceiling fans will come with a reverse switch. During the winter, it is advised that homeowners should run their ceiling fans in reverse. As reported by Energy Star, this will create an updraft which will push warm air away from the ceiling and down into the room. This is a good way to combat the loss of hot air as typically it gradually rises and leaves the home.
Parker & Sons further cautions homeowners not forget about their roof. This is a particularly important consideration in the Southwest where many home are built with flat roofs. Flat roofs need to be cleared of debris, such as leaves, on a regular basis. They can trap moisture which can lead to the growth of mold and mildew.
"This is hardly a comprehensive list of winter home service concerns, but it is a start. Remember, owning a home is a huge responsibility. They require constant upkeep. You don't want to fall behind! If you have any other questions regarding not just winter upkeep, but any home maintenance concerns, why don't you give us a call? We will turn your concerns into a thing of the past," said Josh Kelly of Parker & Sons.
